Robs little bike he made by hand out of carbon. He has been a homebuilder for about 15 years now. I think it has the same 3" stroke shock but a different rocker proportion to reduce the travel to 160mm. The back end is an early set of sample yokes and tubing from a factory they didn't use for the DH bikes. One day a trail bike will be released, but it won't be for a while yet. The factory used for the first to batches of frames has shut down now, so Rob is rejigging in another factory, then maybe after that the trail bike will come out.
That was funny. It does remind me of one ride a bunch of us did a while ago, when the mrs borrowed the neigbours Nomad, with the fox 36 with 3 levers to undo the front wheel. (used to Lyrics and Marzocchi 20mm axles) Anyway she got a flat tyre and the girls at the back didn't catch up, eventually I pushed back up and found the wheel still in the bike. It lead to the joke "Q) How many girls does it take to change a flat tyre? A) We don't know there have never been enough"
It is good they have put the propedal on off diagram on, since of the many people I know with float shocks one of them is certain as to which way on and off are. The rest know no better, and are happy like that! A plain float r is a great shock, better than most others. All the flasher models (RP23 etc) I guess are even better, they must be because they have more buttons.
I'm shocked at how flat the landing of Daves road gap at 51s looks.
My favourite video is velocity vs traction. I think its from 94 or 95, from NZ, mostly the national series. It is probably lost forever now, but maybe one day someone will find a vhs copy and convert it to a digital file on utube or something. Still to this day I have never seen such a long crash segment, but there is plenty of nice riding to. Even a bunch of the brilliance of Glen Sisarich's riding. About Us
